Baptisms, Weddings & Funerals
Baptisms
Baptism is the sign of new life in Christ. The rite is integrated with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist during the principle Sunday liturgy, or other feast day, witnessed by the gathered Christian community. There are no age restrictions but baptism preparation is required, either for parents presenting a child or for those individuals able to make their baptismal vows themselves. All baptized Christians are invited to receive Communion, “the gifts of God for the people of God”. Please contact the clergy to arrange for Baptism preparation and to schedule an appropriate Sunday for the celebration.
Weddings
Marriage is as “a gift of God and a means of God’s grace” that we are very happy to celebrate with all couples, regardless of gender.
Please note that all weddings taking place on St. Helen’s property are under the guidance of the Incumbent and are ‘Anglican’ weddings with an Anglican priest as celebrant. For full details, including costs, please contact the clergy of the parish.
Funerals
Funerals are an opportunity to grieve the death of our loved one, give thanks for their life, and remember the Gospel promise that their life in God continues.
St. Helen’s clergy are available to discuss funeral planning, whether for the (hopefully) distant future or in the context of a recent death. Please contact us for more information, including costs.
