St. Helen's Gardens

St. Helen’s has a community garden, pollinator garden and quiet garden on our property. This are sacred spaces of peace and beauty maintained by members of our community. Our dedicated team of volunteer gardeners is also eager to welcome new members.

The Quiet Garden Memorial

Is there someone you want to remember with a memorial in our Quiet Garden?  Your prayerful contribution to this program will preserve your memories for all to see.

Your memorial contribution can be made in one or all of three ways:

  • A financial gift to support the establishment of the garden.
  • A memorial stone to a prescribed design.
  • A contribution to the ongoing upkeep and maintenance of the garden.

Pollinator Gardens

Our pollinator gardens began with the two islands in our parking lot but are being expanded to other areas of our grounds. These gardens are filled with native plants, providing nourishment to the bugs, butterflies, bees, and birds our ecosystem relies on. They are a beautiful reminder of the resilience and interconnectedness of God’s creation.

Green Thumb Community Garden

The Green Thumb Community Garden, located on the south side of the building, is a collaboration with the Orleans-Cumberland Community Resource Centre. Each year, the containers overflow with herbs and vegetables all of which are distributed by the Food Bank to households dealing with food insecurity.
