St. Helen’s Quiet Garden Devotional

Late Fall 2018

Dress for the weather!

As you begin your short pilgrimage, notice the different stones that pave the path…stop at the ‘tail’ of the ichthus (Jesus Fish) and pick a few flower petals of the lavender still there…crush them between your fingers and then breathe deeply of the scent of tranquility…

Proceed slowly along the path…let the love represented by the memorial stones wash over you, for you also are beloved…contemplate on each verse of scripture as you pass…God is our refuge and our strength…Be still and know that I am God…I am with you always…My peace I leave with you…

Listen for God’s ‘voice’ in the wind, the sunshine or rain, in the chill, in the sights and sounds, in the sky…let God’s Presence enfold you…

Rest for a few moments on one of the benches and enjoy any bright mums or autumn coloured leaves still in evidence.  When you are ready, complete the journey, being assured that our Lord continues with you on the Way.
