One Year Anniversary of the Coronavirus Pandemic

Archbishop Anne Germond, Metropolitan, writing on behalf of the Ontario House of Bishops, circulated a letter to the ecclesiastical province, calling us to a day of prayer and fasting to mark the first anniversary of the declaration of the global coronavirus pandemic on March 11, 2021

Archbishop Anne’s letter and a liturgical resource for observing the anniversary has been provided as well as video resources:

From the Office of the Bishop of Ottawa: “While some may wish to acknowledge this anniversary in a solemn, retrospective manner, like a lament; others may wish to also focus forward, giving thanks for the development of vaccines and efficacious treatment; acknowledging the disparities and injustices that have been laid bare during the pandemic; and praying that human enterprise will be employed in ways that are more just, compassionate, and Christ-like as we begin the journey out of this long pandemic year.”
