In this second week of our pilgrimage, we are heading towards Bath and Glastonbury, and we contemplate the arrival, persistence, and development of Christianity in Britain, even in the face of struggle and oppression.
As you walk this week, think about your own story of faith development. Consider how your faith has changed and grown over the years.
Offer prayers of hope for the future. Ask how you might be changed even more and how you can help others to grow.
This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
God of all, you have inspired us to grow: May our hearts and minds be always alert to receive the inspiration of your Spirit so that we can make new discoveries about you, our world, and ourselves. Amen.
Psalm 147:1-7
Hallelujah!
How good it is to sing praises to our God!
How pleasant it is to honour God with praise!
The Lord rebuilds Jerusalem
and gathers the exiles of Israel.
The Lord heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.
The Lord counts the number of stars
and calls them all by their names.
Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
there is no limit to the wisdom of God.
The Lord lifts up the lowly,
but casts the wicked to the ground.
Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
make music to our God upon the harp.

Creating God, you know all that we are capable of.
Give us an understanding of how we can grow to love and serve you and our neighbours more and more – with wisdom and truth.
offers your thanksgivings and intercessions.
I pray in the name of Jesus, with the words he gave us:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed by your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours,
now and forever. Amen.
