"I am the vine; you are the branches." — John 15:5

The Branches: Youth Group

The Branches: Youth Ministry: Our mission statement, incorporating ideas written by the youth is: St. Helen’s Anglican Youth Ministry, “The Branches”, intentionally develops friendships and character, and grows in the Spirit within a safe environment while having fun and reaching out to the community.

The Branches meet on Sundays in Trinity Hall, from 10:45am to 12pm. Our group is always open to new members, and leaders.  Contact any of the Youth Ministry Leaders for more information:  youth@sthelens.ca

In April, the focus of our meetings was stewardship: of our talents, our gifts, and our world.  A service evening took place by assisting with making the palm crosses and preparing sandwiches for Ottawa Inner-City Ministries who handed them out to the homeless downtown. Derek Reid has joined our meetings twice now leading us in some worship songs. It is expected that the youth will host a worship night on Friday June 23rd at St. Helen’s for the congregation. Several of the youth will be attending the “Diocesan Youth Conference” weekend camp over the May long weekend.

The Branches leadership team is always open for new leaders, if you feel that is your calling.  Speak to Olivia Pelling or the clergy for more information.

Thank you to our youth and to their leaders for their ministry in our parish.

All youth of the parish (12-18) are welcome.  For more details contact the Church office or any member of the leadership team: Olivia Pelling; Ron Harder; Carol Danson; Chris Porter.
