“Heart and Soul”

Morning has broken, like the first morning…

You may be blessed regularly with deep, unbroken sleep.  You may not.  You may toss and turn, with worries coming to mind in cascading swirls, ‘to do’ lists begging notation. Physical aches and pain may make rest elusive. The preferred quiet might well be disturbed by certain noises droning on in erratic rhythm, suggesting that someone else didn’t have a problem falling asleep.  But whatever the night hours hold, dawn brings a new perspective.  A cup of coffee may be required to appreciate it fully, but it is there to embrace.

Sundays, even during Lent, are designated as a celebration of the Son Rise, the Resurrection.  But our Risen Lord walks with us every day, not only guiding us, but sharing in all life brings.  Can you imagine, God is really interested! We can be confident that Jesus will lead us through whatever limits us, binds us, breaks us… through fear… to the dawn, the promise, of a new life. And this Life in Christ offers a different perspective from that the world maintains, a different way of being.  This is our God who calls us to dare to believe, to hope, to rejoice and to participate in the work of God’s kingdom, making a difference in our own lives and in those of others.

A Prayer for Grace Lord God, almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought us in safety to this new day. Preserve us with your mighty power, that we may not fall into sin, or be overcome by adversity; and in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose. Amen. (B.A.S.)
