“Seeds of Grace” Pray, Fast, Give

Thursday, March 21, 2019

In the very fullness of its purpose, Lent is a time for mindfulness of the presence and power of God, for a fresh start, a clearing  time, a time for simplifying, and a time for change.

The invitation to ‘observe a holy Lent’ suggests a multi-disciplinary approach that takes us out of the “Me First” mentality.

Try this…

This morning…I will pray for myself, for someone I love, for an acquaintance, co-worker or neighbour and for peace in a place of violence or tragedy in the world…

This afternoon…I will consciously choose to eat simply and lightly…lunch and supper…and go to bed a little bit hungry…and spend the time not spent in food preparation and consumption in a way which blesses someone else

This evening…I will commit to make a donation to a ministry in need of financial support…
